Hiking Club Links
Scandinavian Club in San Agustin
There is no British Club in the South of Gran Canaria, so I
joined the Scandinavian Club in San Agustin about 9 years ago,
mainly to take part in their bridge club. When the
secretary discovered about my knowledge of walking routes she
asked me if I would be prepared to guide a walk for them about
once a month during the winter season. They wanted
relatively easy walks, about
Grade 3 on my scale, because of the age and ability of their
members. We started guiding walks for them about 5 years
ago and are still doing so, we also occasionally provide tapas
lunches for this group after their walk.

This group was founded 15 years ago, and does weekly
walks on all parts of the island every Sunday for
Members and Non-members.
There walks are demanding, from a Grade 6 upwards on
Rambling Roger's Scale.
Their members are mostly from Scandinavia, but several
other countries as well, I am a regular guide for this
club. |
