The ultimate guide for walks, hiking and mountain trekking on the Canary Island of Gran Canaria, Spain

Gran Canaria is a paradise for hill walking in the Canaries, with inhabited cave villages, lake side walks, spectacular mountain scenery and wonderful flora & fauna especially in the Spring.  There are a great variety of hikes on outstanding trails, many of these are off-the-beaten-track and the climate is excellent for trekking.

"Rambling Roger's your man.  In these days of instant gratification, it is rare to find anyone so devoted to a task, which for him has been a true labour of love.  He is Gran Canaria's Wainwright and deserves similar recognition"

Rambling Roger

My Guide 'Don’t leave Gran Canaria without seeing it' is my first collection of walks, I am planning a second guide in a couple of years.  I will not be publishing any guides for other walking destinations, my speciality knowledge is here in Gran Canaria, Spain.

I do not believe that any other published guide in English can offer this personal service, if you know better please let me know...

 - Hello, I am Rambling Roger and I hope to welcome you to hike with me in Gran Canaria, Spain -

I have been hiking with Roger for over a year now and enjoyed every single walk.  He knows Gran Canaria really well and goes out of his way to design the most fascinating hikes.  I especially appreciate the variety of his walks in terms of length and degree of difficulty.  He has something to offer for everybody

Roger's Ramblers - Weekly Walks

During the months of October to May a group of English speaking friends meet every Tuesday to go mountain walking.  We call ourselves Roger's Ramblers.

Walkers should have suitable footwear, be of reasonable physical fitness and not suffer from vertigo.  The walks will range from 3-5 hours and will cover all parts of Gran Canaria.

Roger's Ramblers

 - Rogers Ramblers -

Our walks cover the complete island, each week we start in a different location.  Most walks are circular if you are an experienced hiker we are sure you would enjoy both the walk and the company of our group.

These walks are free, if you are interested in joining our mountain walks, please contact Roger's Ramblers via email.

Guided Walks for Groups

My wife Eileen and I also guide walks for a couple of local clubs, so if you require guided walks for a group of any size please contact us, as we understand why some people feel safer and more comfortable in a small group with a guide rather than hike alone.  Gran Canaria is a safe place to Trek, but you naturally pick up much more local information etc. especially with a resident English speaking guide.
